DAZ PERFORMANCE: BICEPS HYPERTROPHY & PEAK PROTOCOL

DAZ PremiumFit | Scientific Performance & Training

Building dense, peaked biceps requires more than mindless rep volume. Complete development of the biceps brachii and brachialis demands strict isolation, varying shoulder flex angles, and maximizing mechanical tension at long muscle lengths.

Follow this high-efficiency workout protocol designed to target both heads of the biceps with optimal volume and mechanical strain.

🧬 Biceps Workout Routine

Execute this routine 1-2 times per week. Focus on explosive concentric intent and a controlled 2-3 second eccentric phase.

  • 1. Incline Dumbbell Curl (Long Head / Stretched Position):

    • 3 Sets x 8-10 Reps (RIR 1-2)

    • Focus: Set bench at 45-60 degrees. Keep elbows behind your torso to maximize stretch-mediated mechanical tension on the long head.

  • 2. EZ-Bar Preacher Curl (Short Head / Peak Contraction):

    • 3 Sets x 10-12 Reps (RIR 1)

    • Focus: Lock your upper arms against the pad to eliminate momentum, driving peak tension into the short head at full contraction.

  • 3. Cable Rope Hammer Curl (Brachialis & Brachioradialis):

    • 3 Sets x 12-15 Reps (Last set to failure)

    • Focus: Neutral grip with constant cable tension to expand arm thickness and push the biceps peak upward.

⚡ Execution Rules

  • Proximity to Failure: Train within 1-2 Reps in Reserve (RIR) on all work sets.

  • Zero Momentum: Lock shoulder movement; force the elbow joint to handle 100% of the load.

  • Tempo: Apply a 2-3 second controlled eccentric lowering phase on every rep.
